About the Job
Multi Trades Recruitment is looking for a skilled Electrician to join a factory-based team working on specialist vehicle conversions in Dumfries.
You will install, maintain, inspect, test and repair electrical equipment across both AC and DC systems, working independently and alongside colleagues to deliver work to a high standard.
Working hours:
Monday to Thursday: 08:00–16:30
Friday: 06:00–14:30
Key responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair AC and DC electrical systems, equipment and associated controls.
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete corrective repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and manufacturers’ instructions.
- Carry out electrical inspection and testing, completing accurate certification and service records.
- Identify defects and safety risks, reporting issues where required.
- Maintain a safe, tidy working environment.
Requirements:
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification.
- Qualification demonstrating knowledge of BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, or an immediate plan to update an existing 18th Edition qualification.
- Experience working with both AC and DC systems.
- Competence in electrical inspection, testing, fault-finding and safe isolation.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good communication and accurate record-keeping skills.
Desirable:
City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent inspection and testing qualification.
Experience with batteries, chargers, inverters, UPS systems, solar PV, energy storage or EV charging.
Relevant ECS card.
Full UK driving licence.
